Hailing from Southwestern Ontario, Canada, contemporary painter, Barbara Shore now resides and operates her studio in St Albert, Alberta. Unable to quell her need for creating, Barbara has been painting mix media for over 20 years and has graduated from University of Alberta with a certificate in Fine Art.
Barbara has always been drawn to figures. Her depiction of the female form captures a fleeting moment, immersing the viewer in a timeless world, to engage their emotions, stimulate memories and build connections. Through the use of composition, colour, layering and texture, Shore’s work is truly ever evolving.
Abstract painting has become an enhanced form of expression which moves well bound the traditional brush, incorporating non traditional tools and methods in both figurative and abstract creations. For Shore, painting has become and unconscious process of emotional expression.
Barbara has been juried in and exhibited in shows in Alberta and British Columbia. She is a member of local, national and international art societies. Shore, has in past, served on the Board of Directors for V.A.S.A., a local art society. She was recently juried into the International Society of Experimental Artists show “Pushing Boundaries 2020”. Shore won an award in the juried show presented by the International Society of Acrylic Painters 11th Annual International Online Exhibition 2020.
